Learn to cook the paella

Paella is one of the most popular dishes and the most requested in the world. There is something for everyone, from rice with meat, vegetables or fish and seafood, to the warmest, sweetest, or driest textures.

If you want to learn how to cook it and succeed with your guests, we give you 5 basic tips for making a good Paella:

1. The broth

A good broth is essential for us to have a memorable Paella. Clearly, homemade broth is always going to be the best option. This way, the rice will taste delicious. Also, think that you must prepare twice as much broth as rice.

Important: if you make a seafood paella, fish broth; and if you make meat paella, a good vegetable broth.

2. Sauté

We will need a good sauté to get a tasty rice with various textures. In a frying pan, a small amount of virgin olive oil, tomato, sweet pepper, a touch of saffron, meat, fish, and vegetables (depending on the type of Paella do you want to make) should never be missing.

A little trick: once the sauté is ready, add the rice and let it brown for a couple of minutes.

3. Rice

What would we do without the main ingredient? Nothing, right? However, you need to choose the right rice to make a good paella. In this case, we will choose a bomba rice or coarse-grained rice, as it is very well absorbed in the broth and is quite tasty on the palate.

Once the rice is golden, add the pre-prepared broth and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

Our recommendation: La Fallera rice, special for paella, that you will find in our Online store.

4. Let the stand

A key point that we almost always overlook. Let the rice rest for 3 to 5 minutes. And here it is! you will already have the pan ready to serve and licking your fingers.

5. Paella dish

It is the most important kitchen utensil when it comes to making good rice, without it we would do absolutely nothing. Depending on the number of diners, you will need a larger or smaller pan. And if you are doing it outdoors, you will also need a butane gas and a bracket to put the Paella dish on.

There are many different Paella dish, but we highlight 3: glazed, stainless steel and non-stick.

Our selection: in the paella and casserole section in our supermarkets you will find a wide variety of models and sizes.

And finally, we have some essential ingredients that can never be missing in the kitchen: patience, not being in a hurry and putting a lot of love into it. By following these tips, you will achieve an excellent result and your guests will be well surprised.

Enjoy your meal!
